Doom Patrol #14, page 3


In this page from Doom Patrol, Seth's use of perspective is pretty obvious to us, the reader. Only three panels, each one shown from a different point of view so as to give maximum clarity to the relative size, position, and and setting of the various protagonists, as well as to make the page as interesting as possible.

I learned recently that someone, I think it was Giorgio Vasari, said, in relation to Renaissance art, that in order to be beautiful a painting should show people in many different positions. He would not have dreamed of showing people from as many different points of view as this, but I think he would have agreed that it makes the page endlessly interesting to look at.
