June 4 is World Drawing Day. Wherever you are, whatever else is going on, take a few minutes to pick up a pencil, or a pen, or a mouse, or a stick, and draw. Then scan your drawing in to one of the websites that is collecting them: YouTube, Deviant Art, Facebook, PaperDemon, and a bunch more. They tell you all about it on the website.
The organizers hope to inspire One Million drawings.
It doesn't matter if you think you can't draw. There is no judgment involved. Nobody is going to say, "This one is accepted; this one is rejected." The hope is to recapture the joy that we had as little kids in the process of making marks on a page that represented something we liked.
It's not often that a public event comes up that has no purpose other than encouragement and delight. I like this.
