I have a niece who is in art school. She wrote to me a couple of weeks ago to say that she is in a perspective for illustration class, and that her teacher had used Happydale as an example of good use of perspective.
In this 5 frame page, from Seth's earliest comic book, each of the frames is shot from a different angle, each one showing the mood of the action to best advantage. The first scene, of the lonely and lovesick Willy alone on the front porch, shows the setting for the rest of the action. Willy's small stature and earnestness are brought out in the square panel where we see him from above, and the last one where he almost fills the rectangle.
